My hubby and I are up in Big Bear this weekend.  The valley has so.....much to do over the holiday.  But.....we have to work first.  We are having our first yard sale tomorrow so we are spending the day preparing for it.  It's amazing how much we accumulated over the last 5 years.  Big Bear has "picture perfect" weather today, so it will be fun gathering and pricing everything. 

 

My nice neighbor even brought us over breakfast this morning.  That's how we "roll" in our nice, friendly community!!  Don't you just love the darling Smokey the Bear vintage record I found at the last Peddler's Market up in Big Bear....it looks adorable in my cabin along with the vintage post card!

Evel Dick Donato.........had gallbladder surgery!

As many of you know I am a "huge" Big Brother fan.  I just heard that Evel Dick "tweeted" he had to have emergency gallbladder surgery.  So.............even if he stayed in the game, he might not have been able to finish anyways.  Funny, how things happen.

Some years back my hubby and I got to tour the Big Brother house when we did a Harley Davidson run for a charity.  It's located inside the CBS studios.  I was pretty shocked at how small the house was.....and the back yard.

Allison Grodner had a huge picture of Kayser hanging up in their offices.  It was fun taking the tour and getting to go into the diary room, their bathroom, etc.  The would not let us tour the "Head of Household" room, though......

Over the years I've bought some props from the show.  I have a great big huge prop that Howie signed.  I will have to take some pictures of it when I get home and post them on my blog......  I'm still looking for the pics I took inside the studio.  I'll post those too, when I find them.

I'm sure many of you are very sad over the closing of your much-loved companies....I can only imagine how hard this must be for all of you.  I've been in the direct selling business for the past 18 years so I can put myself in your shoes, it becomes part of your "family".

Direct selling is like, no other business.....Not only did you lose something you loved doing, but also the source of your income, that many of you worked years to build.  How sad to think you may also lose contact with many of your loyal customers & down line, (that you've come to love and admire over the years), as they head off in different directions.

Wow~A large 5.9 Earthquake hits Washington

Bon Jour~

Lots of buildings in Washington DC are being evaucated due to the large earthquake that just hit. 

Maybe this is the "jolt" our Leaders needed to remind them to get back to work on our economy!

All kidding, aside, I pray no one was injured or hurt....we have lot's of earthquakes in Ca and they aren't fun.

I just "luv" tea parties!

I don't know about you, but I just "luv" going out for tea.....it's a wonderful time to just relax and chat with good friends & enjoy yummy treats!!

This picture was taken 55 years ago, when I was two.  I've always been a "girly girl" and playing tea was right up my alley! 

Today my good friend, Kim and I are going to "Paris in a Cup", one of my favorite tea houses in downtown Orange.  Since I only drink herbal teas it's fun to try the special blends they serve.

Well, I've got to run and get ready for "tea"....

Update......Kim and I had a wonderful time at tea.  We've been friends since the 6th grade.  It was so nice to see her and catch up! The tea and food was delicious, as usual.

Vu...la...la.... had such a good time!  She was "rubbing shoulders" with Marie Antoinette, bathing beauties and more.

asked me to take a close up shot of her face.  She wanted to show you her beautiful "peaches & cream" complextion!!

I do have to say that before we left Vu....la...la...started acting like a "lady" again, thank goodness.  She decided to leave a good impression with you by taking this very "formal" picture.

The Adventures of Vu...la...la...

I'd like to introduce you to: Vu.....la....la......  She's my Votre Vu travel doll!  I purchased her some time ago, from one of my favorite Etsy sellers, Laurie Duncan.  I have a number of darling "pixie's" that I've purchased from Laurie over the years..... I "luv" to use them to decorate my house for the holidays.

I was thrilled when Laurie came out with two "Paris" style dolls so I bought them both.  The first one I named Vu...la...la and you will have to wait to meet her "bff" later!  She's very "cute" and wears her hair in pig tails.

Problem, is, she's very "shy" and doesn't know if she want's me to post her picture yet.  I'm going to invite her to "tea" at Paris in a Cup next week with my best "childhood" friend Kim.  Maybe I can sneek in some shots of her!!

So far Vu....la....la has been on a couple of outings.  She just "luved" her visit to The Huntington Library with Julie and Glad!  She even made it into Julie's digital scrapbook!!  Vu....la....la....took along "bebe" duette on her trip to the Huntington......she told me it was the perfect size to put in her small bag that day.  And she just "luvs" the "pink" lip balm!!!

Vu's been out to eat with Sharon and Carole twice!  At this rate, she may have to go on a diet, like I do!!!!

She just could not decide where she wanted to take her picture.  Just like a women......she kept changing her mind......

You've gotta "luv"...... all of the darling Orange County Fair animals!!

Bon jour~

What fun we had at the Orange County fair, yesterday.  I need to make this a short post as we are getting ready to head to Big Bear for our 23th wedding anniversary later on today.  I get "too long-winded" anyways, at times......

Marigold, the adorable pig, was in labor......when we arrived.  We stayed by her pen for ages hoping to catch the miracle of her babies being born, but it was not to be.  I wonder if her "babes" have been born yet???  Next we saw the cutest goats, this darling calf was born only 20 hours ago.  She made the most adorable sounds.....

Here is a picture of her Dad...... and a picture of her friend in the next pen.  He kept trying to steal "baby's food". 

Next, we saw....baa...baaa ....can you guess???  They reminded me of myself yesterday....eat....eat....eat....

What fun we had.....going to the Orange County Fair!

Don't you just "luv" summertime......and going to your local home town fairs??

I sure do....My hubby and I went to the Orange County Fair last Sunday with my cousin, Andra and her hubby.

I just "luv" flowers so I always love to check out the flower displays......and this year was fantastic.  Here are some of my favorite pics from the day......

For some reason going to the fair makes me "HUNGRY" and boy did we ever eat!  Way.......too much, I must say.  I even bought some chocolate covered bacon before we left!

Everywhere you looked.....you saw the beauty of God's creation.  The flowers were more than gorgeous!!  Every shade of the rainbow was on display for us to ENJOY! 

Flowers are so.......peaceful to me... their beauty is fleeting, their fragrance will fade, and soon they will wither and die.....but their seeds will live on and produce blooms again next year!

I'm going back to the fair tomorrow with my sister and Mom so I will be sharing more "pics" soon!

Where have all the flowers gone.......from my cottage garden

Bon jour~

I really miss using my backyard deck up at the cabin........ it's been in a state of disarray for what seems like ages. For some reason it would not quit snowing up in Big Bear this year. I'd try and plant some flowers only to have them die from the late frost and snow we kept getting. We finally got some nice weather and then decided to have our home re-stained along with the decks. Everything from the deck had to be removed for about a month, so..........last weekend we finally got to put everything back and I got to start working on my little English cottage garden. Our backyard is small, but I love it!!!!!

Our new DIY store in Big Bear has been having a sale on flowers so I've practically been living there lately.  You can purchase a 6 pack for only $1.09.....  I planted a lot of flowers on Friday, only to wake up Saturday morning to loads of them pulled out of the ground.  I couldn't blame the gray squirrls this year as we havn't seen any lately.  KBHR reported last weekend that they finally found out what has been killing them off this year......mange.  How sad!!!  They used to love to hand around my garden and eat my bird seed.  I kinda miss them............but not the damage they caused!!!  So I guess it must be the raccoon family that we saw last year making their rounds again.  I got everything replanted again, and thank goodness, they didn't stop by last night!!

I luv.....my tree truck fountain.....it's so cute and makes such relaxing water sounds.  I need to take a better picture of it soon......
