Good Morning!
Yesterday I decided that it was time to make a change in my life. I turn 61 in May and I am going to stop being a work-a-holic and start to enjoy life more. I want to get closer to God, spend more time with family and friends, eat healthier, sleep more and work sensible hours. Gone are the days of only getting 3 to 4 hours of sleep.
Every day I am going to work on a new hobby, read a book, take a walk and smell the roses! I bought a new to do list. It's pink with a cute saying .....I totally need to.....______. Every night before I go to bed I am going to list some things I want to accomplish the next day! And.....try to finish everything I put on my list.
I am so....excited to share that I got 8 hours of sleep last night! That is practically unheard of for me. In the past I would go to bed.....very late....and wake up at 4:30 in the morning. So....I am really putting my new changed life into place.
I encourage you to make some changes in your life....and see just how good it makes you feel to accomplish them!
Well, I'm off to make one of my favorite drinks of the day! Spring water, Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar and some honey. I weighed myself this morning and one of my goals is to eat healthier, lose some weight, so that is one of the goals I will be working on today.
ta....ta...till later! And remember......Keep Calm and Get More Sleep!

Kitties got a bath.....and more!
Roger and I are up in beautiful Big Bear. Friday we had a yummy breakfast at the Barnstorm. Then we went into town and bought some healthy~delicious food. I've never seemed to like Greek Yogurt, but I found a banana flavor that I just love.
I have to say....I am really enjoying eating healthier....I don't even miss all of the candy I ate over the holidays! My new favorite foods are radishes, sunflower seeds and cucumber water! Delish!
Last night Roger and I went out for dinner at The Barnstorm, they sent him a nice Birthday card for dinner on them. Art Harriman was playing.....luv him. He used to sing with Elvis and has loads of fun stories to tell. Last week Shirley Jones sang with Art, sorry we missed her.

The kitties got a bath yesterday. Roger gives them their baths and I blow then dry & groom them. Princess Mocha didn't like getting groomed....as usual....so I ended up with some pretty nice scratches.... Mynxie.....would never scratch me... his motto is Keep Calm and Purr On....no matter what!
I'm spending most of this trip....cleaning the cabin. I have loads to do, but I'm starting to make a dent in my chores. I'm even taking some time to relax, too, I'm knitting a scarf. I will post a picture soon!

It's me again!
Dear Family and Friends.....
I had to put my blogging on hold last year.....as we went through a lot as a family.
Last October, my Precious "Daddy-Boy" went to see his maker while we were singing...Surely Goodness and Mercy shall follow me....all the days of my life. While we miss Daddy~Boy with all of our hearts, we are thrilled to know he is with his Lord in complete health!
Here are some of my favorite pictures of the last few months with my precious Daddy~Boy. Even though Alzheimer's took so much from him, it never took away his love for us! We practically lived at his care facility and I loved doing the smallest of crafts with him. I know it brightened his day and made me the happiest girl ever! I love you.....to the moon and back!
We celebrated Daddy-Boy and Mommy's 63rd Wedding Anniversary at his care center, the best day ever!

It's tea time!
My BFF's and I go to tea....every few months! We have so much fun eating, chatting, laughing, and sharing, but most of all, it's just a wonderful time to relax and enjoy each other's company.
We've been friends for over 20 years now so we have plenty to talk about!!
It was my turn to pick the tea house, so I decided to go to Paris in a Cup! Just look at the yummy food they served! I completely forgot to take a picture of the scones, they were to die for!

My Life has been crazy busy......the last 2 years!
I'm doing a "Happy" Dance. I finally have time to get back to blogging, something my Mom really misses as she reminded me on Mother's Day!
I'm not going to look back over the last few years, but instead start fresh. This blog will probably only be meaningful to my friends and family as it's just about my life...my family....my cats...my friends....etc. But here goes!
I need to rename my blog to Sixty and Fabulous, since I'm no longer 57. It seems just like yesterday, I was this little girl, enjoying my first Birthday. My how time flies!
Today, I'm tackling my chores. So far I've finished my front yard, done some laundry, and organized some paperwork. I still have loads more work to do to complete my Spring cleaning!
I luv.....to find treasures at my local "thrift" stores! Yesterday they had 50% off Linens at my local Salvation Army. I found a wonderful shabby chic duvet with shams for only $5.50.
I knew I could do something with the well-worn comforter, so I decided to make a tablecloth for my backyard garden and some matching chair covers!
Out came my scissors and glue gun. I wanted a little project I could do quickly before dinner. I just luv the way my "shabby" project turned out and I have a load more material leftover to make matching pillows, seed bags and more goodies, when I make it up to my cabin~where I keep my sewing machine. Not....too bad, for only an hour of my time! And.....the covers look so much nicer than my sun-faded chair pads!
I luv.....I luv....to buy items that have been repurposed! Just look at this darling bird feeder made out of a 50's snack set! I bought this treasure at a boutique last year!
I'm not a fan of NEW, to me, I luv the look of cherished items from the past. It's fun to imagine who the previous owner's were...and why they saved their treasure instead of dumping it into a landfill!
I can't wait to start working on my organic garden in my back yard....like my neighbor has. It's time to start eating healthier. I'll be posting pictures over the next few weeks!
Who....didn't love....watching Dancing with the Stars tonight! My favorite show EVER!
I've been an ardent fan for years, since the first season. My cousin and I have been going to the show for years and years now. And....my hubby and I were even in one of the episodes!
But....watching Max and Meryl win.....was the icing on the cake! I wonder.....what will develop....now that the show is over! I hope....they get married!

I just...luv Quilts!
Beautiful....for only $40!! |
I luv....rain, don't get me wrong, but it never really did anything more than just sprinkle. I was looking forward to a huge thunder and lightning storm, but we didn't get one.
Isn't this the cutest...quilt? I bought it at the Peddler's Market over the 4th of July weekend. Someone really put a lot of work, into this.
One of these days, when I catch up on all of my projects, I want to start working on my first quilt.
I finally got my new replacement phone......we spent 3 hours moving all of my pics over and activating it. I sure hope it works better than my old one did.
I was told it has a great camera, so I ran outside and took a couple of quick pics of some flowers in my garden.
My bulbs are finally starting to bloom, one should be HUGE when it finishes opening up tomorrow. Here is a smaller version....
I will post another picture soon, once it finishes opening up.

Hi Friends!
I'm so excited.....I'm finally back to blogging.
Something...I've missed for months and months. Life has been crazy busy.
Don't you just...luv...this darling Kewpie doll I found in Cottenwood, Arizona, on our vacation earlier this month??
Roger and I came up to Big Bear to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary this weekend. We've been having a wonderful time.
Saturday night we went to dinner at Ooh...la...la...Bistro in Big Bear Village. The chef is a 5 star chef, the food was delicious!
I can't wait to go back next weekend. Here are the pictures of our desserts.....they were to die for!
